SPEECH PATHOLOGY
Speech Pathologists help people who have difficulties with their communication, eating and drinking.
They diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, stuttering and using voice.
They work with people who have difficulty communicating because of developmental delays, stroke, brain injuries, learning disability, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, and hearing loss, as well as other problems that can affect speech and language.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational therapists provide assessment of the child's current occupational performance in the areas of self-care, motor skills, play and productivity.
Occupational therapists can determine the needs of the child and family in managing these occupations at home or school.
They also provide management strategies, education, equipment and simple environmental modifications to home/school environment.
GROUP PROGRAMS
Group therapy is a great way to help children develop communication and socialisation skills in a engaging and fun environment. It can often encourage children to practise new skills and gain support from same aged peers.
We provide the following groups based on eligibility and demand:
- Early language
- Fine motor
- School preparation and transition
PARENT INFORMATION SESSIONS
We offer parent information sessions at childcare centres, kindergartens and at our clinic. These sessions can be used to discuss milestones, ways to support children’s communication and development and answer questions that parents may have.
SCREENING DAYS
Screening days are designed for preschools and kindergarten classrooms to help with early detection of any developmental difficulties and whether further support may be required. They can also help address concerns parents or carers may have.
Screening days have become an effective tool for many preschools and schools, who now book it as part of their yearly schedule.
